Sunday is the most important part of our church’s week, but it’s not everything. Part of having a strong church community is having events and workshops that give everyone an opportunity to grow spiritually, build relationships and give something back to the world beyond them.
We are blessed to have some kind of event or workshop almost every week at Unity of Montclair. And behind the scenes there is always a team of volunteers making it happen, bringing a great idea from concept to reality!
If you like to work with people, are good at event organizing or party planning, you’re just what’s needed on the Events Team. The past couple of years, they’ve helped put together events such as a meditation workshop with a Buddhist monk, teddy bear stuffing for Wynona’s House, teddy bear giveaways to a nursing home, food and coat drives for the needy, and much much more.
Be a part of something beyond yourself. It will help your fellow churchgoers, your wider community, and most of all—you, as it fills your own heart with joy.
The commitment depends on the current event schedule, the team’s needs, and your skills and availability. You may be asked to do things such as help plan and coordinate events, do some shopping, set up and take down at the actual events, or help lead an event.
